Samuel married Jane Reid in 1750. Jane (daughter of John R. Reid and Mary Jean Stewart) was born in 1725 in Delaware, USA; died in 1806 in Nashville, Davidson Co, TN. [Group Sheet] [Family Chart]

1. David Shannon was born in 1756 in Montgomery Co, VA; died in 1823 in Jackson Co., TN.
2. James Shannon was born on 11 May 1773 in Montgomery Co, VA; died on 2 Oct 1846 in Williamson, TN.

Notes:

Is believed to have come to America in the late 1600s from Munster, Ireland with his brothers . (Dexal Shannon's Book) He was married to Agnes or Eigness, they eventually settled the Chester Co., PA. in an area referred to as West Conestoga Twp., which later became Lancaster Co., as we know it today. See page 1 Dexal Shannon's Book. Scotch-Irish Presbyterians Will is on file in dated 4 Apr. 1737 is recorded in Book A Vol 1 page26at Lancaster County Court House.

Thomas married Aignes Reid. Aignes was born about 1690 in Ireland; died after 1737 in Lancaster Co. Penn. [Group Sheet] [Family Chart]

He and his family lived in Munster, Ireland, where he was a merchant. They had at least the following sons who migrated to America in the late1600s or early 1700s as per Dexal Shannon's book: Thomas, William, Robert, Andrew.
