    Notes:

    Jacob Jr., was 6'2" and weighed 180 pounds and was dark complectioned. He left home when he was 20 years of age and came to Masselon, Ohio and married Susana Whitimire.
    To this union was born 11 or 13 children, among them; Tobias, Frank, Ephriam, George, Jonathan, David, Abner, Harvey, Caroline and Katherine.
    Jacob came to Decatur, IN and bought 60 acres of land, two miles south of Decatur. There he built a log cabin. He then returned to Ohio to move his family to their new home. While there he was taken ill with lung fever (pneumonia) and died.
    Before his death he told his wife to write to his folks in Pennsylvania. They were quite wealthy and would help her rear the children. Instead she moved her family with an ox team to the farm south of Decatur.

    Notes:

    1850 she is a widow in Vermillion, Ashland, Ohio, seven children living at home.
    1860 she is in Washington, Adams, Indiana with three children, Abner, Catharine and William H.
    In the 1870 census she is living with her daughter Catherine and husband Thomas C/Kearney (Irish) in Peru Ward 4, Miami, Indiana.

    When her husband died, Susannah moved her family with an ox team to the farm south of Decatur. They cleared most of the land. There were many hardships. Game was plentiful and there were wolves, bears and wild hogs. One time a bear killed two of their fat hogs and boys pursued the bear all night. They finally killed it at what is now the White Bridge, two miles east of Bluffton, Indiana.

    Susannah changed the name from Moser to Mosure to aviod mix-ups with the many Mosers around Decatur, Indiana.

    Jonathan Mosure 15.8.1836 died may 4, 1912 born in Ashland, Ohio, d. in Indiana.

    Notes:

    Jacob Moser came to America from Berne, Switzerland in 1765. He settled in Schuylkill County, Pennsylvania. He bought 100 acres of land in 1770, for $500 in what is now Philadelphia. They were members of the Lutheran Church in Switzlerland. His six brothers and two sisters came with him to America. Some of them settled in Burkes County, Penn. The brothers' names were Burkhart, Fredrick, Franklin, Adam, John and Henry. The sisters were May and Catherine. Later John, Henry , Fredric, Adam and Franklin emigrated to North and South Carolina.
    Jacob and Burkhart remained in Pennsylvania, Burk Moser remained single, bought 416 acres of land on Panther Creek called Bowens Grove, in the hills of Schuylkill County, Penn. In the year 1776. Burkhart died about 1845. Later the LeHigh Coal Company bought the land and paid $7,000,000 for it and the largest hard coal company in the US developed.
    One of the girls married Russell Colt and moved to New York State. The boys were born to this union, Jack and Lionel. Jack became the father of the great stage and screen people, the Barrymore's.
    Fredric went to North Carolina and married and became the father of eleven children. His grandson, John, son of Michael, married Barbara Meretz, decendent of the Royal House of Saxony.
