Notes - Jacob Jr., was 6'2" and weighed 180 pounds and was dark complectioned. He left home when he was 20 years of age and came to Masselon, Ohio and married Susana Whitimire.
To this union was born 11 or 13 children, among them; Tobias, Frank, Ephriam, George, Jonathan, David, Abner, Harvey, Caroline and Katherine.
Jacob came to Decatur, IN and bought 60 acres of land, two miles south of Decatur. There he built a log cabin. He then returned to Ohio to move his family to their new home. While there he was taken ill with lung fever (pneumonia) and died.
Before his death he told his wife to write to his folks in Pennsylvania. They were quite wealthy and would help her rear the children. Instead she moved her family with an ox team to the farm south of Decatur.
