    In Sept 1929 Mildred and June was going to Leo in High River Alberta from California. This record states that June was born in Detroit. Later in October 1929 Leo, Mildred and June are headed from Long Beach California to Alberta and again they say that June is born in Detroit. She attended first grade in Kansas (age 6) and at age 7 (2nd grade) she was in a protestant school in Montreal, where she lived until she was 21. After attending the Rapid Shorthand College in Montreal, she took various clerical positions, including one in The Montrealer in 1941, at the sales audit office at Eaton's Department Store 1941-1944 and at Williams and Wilsons. From 1944 she was at Bell Telephone.

    In 1915 he was living at 149 Campbell Avenue in Detroit, his occupation was organizer.
    In 1920 and 1927 he was living at 4730 McGraw in Detroit.
    The 1930 census says he was a business excecutive. He was living on Sturtevant Ave. in Detroit, with Eloise and Charles Claude jr., and had a housekeeper named Eva S. Graves.

    The 1936 marriage record of his son CC states he was a sales manager in Detroit.
    The 1942 WWII Draft Registration Cards for CC states he was born in Nashville, Indiana. He was then a work organizer specialist in Detroit.

    Published in Detroit Free Press, Detroit MI Feb 45 1952 Tuesday page 21---An office equipment manufacturer, Mr. Casey, 67, died Saturday at his home 4356 Sturtevant.
    He was owner and general manager of the Sorter Graf CO and president of Work Organizers Speciality Corp. Born in Bicknell Indiana, Mr. Casey came to Detroit in 1910 as assistant advertsing manager of the Burroughs Adding Machine CO.
    He was a member of First Church of Christian Scientist. He is survived by his wife Claire; a son Charles C Casey Jr; and five daughters, Mrs. Carl F Craig, Mrs. Agnes L Smith. Mrs. Donald Hollister . Mrs. Donald Dimitry and Jeanne Chapman.
    Services will be at 2:30 pm Wednesday at William R. Hamilton Co Funeral Home. There will be a private service at Evergreen Cemetery.

    At the Dec 14, 1915 death of Lydia in Pontiac State Hospital, Oakland county, Michigan parents are mentioned as D.E. Shoemaker and Orpha Macafee. She had been hospitalized for 21 days, sick for 28, and died of exhaustion and sepsis.

    Died:
    Lydia died of septicemia (blood infection following birth) and baby Carleton died of influenza according to the death certificates. There was a big flu epidemic that year in Detroit. Lydia's parents are also buried at Eastlawn cemetary, Detroit.

    Mildreds aunt Myrtle Bass was married to William L. Welch. Their nephew Lester Davis (mother Laura Welch m. Fish Davis) was the father of Mildreds daughter, the couple were to get married at one point, unknown why it did not happen. Mildred was sent to a home for wayward mothers in Detroit. She would never talk about the father, but it was common knowledge in the large families that they were courting. Now DNA matched.

    Notes:

    Stonemason, and pugilist (fighter). Apparently engaged in a fisticuff engagement (some reports says boxing match in Uniontown). Came home? to Freetown and died approx. two weeks later. His grave has not been found in Freetown.

    In the 1880 census for Indianapolis there is a stone cutter Charles Case, born in Ohio (abt 1850), single, father born in Indiana, mother in Vermont.

    On the death certificate of Roy in 1906 his brother James registers fathers birth place as Ohio.

    When Charles R. Casey marries in 1881 in Brown county, his last name is Case. No parents in the registry.

    Birthdate may be Aug 27.

    Brown county is just south of Indianapolis, and nabors Bartholomew and Jackson counties, where the familiy settles. Knox is a little further west.

    - Not the son of James Solomon Casey and Eliza Ann West. Their son is Charles Thomas Casey. When this Charles T. gets married, his parents are stated. He is also in the census with his mother Eliza in 1880.

    1920 census for Bicknell has her as Tabitha A. Casey, age 55, widow, washer woman born in Indiana, has both parents born in Virginia.
    1930, widow on Alexander Street in Bicknell, father born in Kentucky, mother in Virginia.
    Tobitha had tuberculosis for ten years before she died of myocarditis in 1933.

The Simmons familie lived northeast of Abesville near the Christian-Stone county line. Will rode a horse or walked across the fields to go see Lizzie. They were married in the home of her parents; both fathers were witnesses to the ceremony. They lived in Stone county most of their married life and were parents of nine children.

    William and Elizabeth (Lizzie) moved to North Hayes, Reno County, Kansas by 1930 with son James, where they farmed a rented farm. They were back on the family farm in Reeds Spring by 1935. Lived in Garber, Missouri in 1942.

    Christian County Republican 23 Feb. 1960 p 5: Funeral services for Nancy Elizabeth Bass, 82 who died Tuesday, Feb. 16, were held Saturday, Feb 20 at 2 p.m. with burial in the Ponce de Leon Cemetery under the direction of Chaffin Fineral Home. On January 20 1895, she was united in marriage to William C. Bass, who preceded her in death on February 18,1945. To this union were born 9 children, of whom four preceded her in death. Survivors include four daughters, Mrs. Roy Stewart and Mrs. Nannie Hilton, both of Spokane, Mrs. Mildred Bessette, Hillsdale, Mich. and Mrs Fannie Weston, New Boston, Mich,; one son, James S. Bass of Garber, one sister, Mrs Amy McDonald of California; 18 grandchildren and 32 grat grandchildren. A great, great grandchild passed away the same day as Mrs. Bass.
