Dorsey B. Tisdale Jr. was married to Mary Adeline (Dozier) Tisdale in 1917 in Pasquotank, North Carolina.

They had two children and lived in Portsmouth, Virginia when their daughter was born in 1920. Her name was Dorothy Mae (Tisdale) married Kenneth Orriss and their son Dorsey B. Tisdale III (1928-2008).

Mary Adalene's parents were; Percy C Dozier and Addie Mae Downing Dozier, both born in Norfolk, Va. around 1878.

Addie Downing Dozier's mother (Adeline Penelope Britt) was born in N.C. whilst her father (George Michael "Washington" Downing) born in Cork, Ireland. He came to America in the 1860's with his father
Edmond Barry Downing.

Dorsey Tisdale Sr. married again after the divorce from Hilma. He married Bernice. They had 3 daughters, who were 15-20 years younger than Dorsey Jr. They also lived in Norfolk. Dorsey Sr. died in 1940 and is burried at Forrest Lawn Cemetery.

Dorsey married Hilma Charlotte Krogh on 21 May 1896 in Portsmouth, Norfolk, Virginia. Hilma (daughter of Kristian Antons. Krogh and Eline Hendriette Witbro) was born on 13 Jan 1880 in Kolonien, Strinda, Lade, Trondheim; was christened on 28 Mar 1880 in Strinda, Lade, Trondheim; died on 31 Aug 1945 in Norfolk, Virginia, USA. Søstrene Calda og Gladys bodde hos "Halma" i Spring Hope town, Nash, North Carolina i 1900 census.
I 1910 er Halma og ektemannen Dorsey Tisdale boende i Norfolk Ward 3, Norfolk (Independent City), Virginia.
Hilma and Dorsey also had a couple of other children after Dorsey Jr., possibly a son named George and a daughter Elena. George may have died at birth. Elena died at about 2 years old, possibly of diptheria or other childhood disease.

She married a second time to Wm. Herman Fitzhugh of Parkersburg, West Virginia. They had no children together and lived in Brooklyn, N.Y. where Herman worked at the shipyard and also in Norfolk, Virginia until her death. They are both buried at Forest Lawn Cemetery, Norfolk, VA.

Her tombstone gives her birthdate as January 13, 1882, the date is correct, but the correct year is 1880, according to official Norwegian records.

Widowed in 1896, Christian Krough is still in the Norfolk city directories of 1897. He moved to Brooklyn, New York for a few years with his two youngest children, Willie and Anna. He was a machinist.
In the 1900-census he is living with his sister Anna (Annie) and daughter Anna (Annie) in Brooklyn. Willie Edward had passed in February, before the census count on June 1. Gladys and Calda were then in North Carolina to be raised by, and helping, his oldest daughter Hilma (Halma/Helma). Calda got married in Kings, NY in 1901.
Christian went to Massachusetts for work.
In the 1905 New York city census Anna and Gladys are living with Svale and Calda in New York.
By 1906 Kristian is in Massachusetts where he in September marries Ragna Emilie Vold. From 1910 onwards he is in Weymouth Ward where he dies in 1924.
By 1910 Hilma was back in Norfolk, Calda was in Tanner Creek, Norfolk (in 1915 she is in Brooklyn). Anna is not with either of them. In 1912 miss Anna M. Krough is the city directories of Norfolk. Gladys and Anna Mae both got married in Weymouth, Mass, 1912.
I haven't found Gladys in the 1910-census, but she is in the Norfolk city directories from 1906, and counted there in 20 and 30, and then by 1935 in Brooklyn.

1910- and 1920-census has: Weymouth Ward 1, Norfolk, Massachusetts, Christian and wife Ragna Emilie Vold - Krough/Crough. Says he emigrated in 1885, 1900 says 1887.

Kristian married Eline Hendriette Witbro on 27 Jul 1879 in Bakklandet, Trondheim. Eline (daughter of Erik Andreas Johans. Witbro and Jonetta Henriette Feragen) was born on 12 Apr 1860 in Strinda, Trondheim; died on 23 Nov 1896 in Portsmouth, Norfolk, Virginia; was buried in Oak Grove Cemetery, plot E442.
