    Robert M. LaFollette, a second cousin of James Solomon Casey, was a candidate for president in 1924. (his mother, Mary Ferguson was first cousin to James' mother Malinda, and daughter of Benjamin's older brother, John Ferguson, Jr).

    In 1910 Eliza lived with her daughter Rosella "Rosie" White in Degnan, Latimer, OK.

    Notes:

    His father in law Benjamin Forgason (Ferguson) can be found in Decatur, Indiana 1840 census next door to Thomas A. Casey.

    Census records indicate that Thomas' birth date was about 1821 as he is shown as age 29 in the 1850 Decatur County, Indiana census.
    In the 1850 Census children are Matthew, Sarah, (these two are from Malinda's previous marriage to Edmond Mitchell on Jan. 6, 1831 in Decatur Co. In.) Solomon (James Solomon), Elizabeth, Nancy, Ann E. and Thomas J.
    In 1860 Decatur census the children are James S., Nancy, Ann E., Thomas J., Harvey, and Sarah M. Mitchell. Thomas A. Casey and Malinda (Ferguson) Mitchell were married December 27, 1838 in Decatur Co. In. There is a note giving son Harvey permission to marry that was written by Thomas while he was in Indianapolis, Indiana.

    In the 1900 Census for Chicago, there is a Thomas Casey in an old folks home, birthdate recorded as Dec 1824, which I believe is too late, as he was married in 1838 and head of a household in 1840. Censuses show birthyear as 1821. He was still very young when he married.

    There was a Thomas Casey who was in the Indiana infantry from Jan 1865 till Jan 1866, as a sargeant, registered in Dayton, KY.
