  Overtok Søre (øvre) Solheim etter Knut Eilevs. Solheim (1817-1895) og kona Kari. Dei var barnlause og selde garden til "Sæte-Halvor". Han greide ikkje å betale garden, så Knut tok han att, og Halvor reiste til Amerika. Der vart han gift med Haldis Pålsdtr. Rueslåtta som han alt var med barn før han reiste. Falt under en treskemaskin og døde. 1880 census Northwood, Grand Forks, Dakota Territory. I 1882 må det ha herja sjukdom i familien, fem av borna døydde på kort tid.
