  Maarten Corneliszoon married Claartje van der Fits, from a family from Noordwijkerhout. Both lived in Lisse at the time of their marriage, but four years later, in 1685, they bought a house in Sassenheim. That house belonged to Claartje's parents, the baker couple Claes Van der Fits and Grietje Cornelisdochter. The house was sold again seven years later by Maarten, who was supposed to live in Lisse that year according to the deed. The couple probably lived in the house next to the inn De Engel, which was owned by Maarten's father. That house became available after Maarten's death in 1731 and was sold a year later by the (grand)children of Cornelis Bartenszoon van den Burg. No Sassenheim baptismal data are available for the first children of Maarten and Claartje, but from 1689 onwards the children of the couple were baptised in Lisse, a strong indication that Maarten and Claartje had gone to live in that village. The six children of Maarten and Claartje live in Noordwijk, Sassenheim, Lisse and Katwijk.
