Massey. Came to Grimes County, Texas in 1862 and to Waco in 1866. Served as chief justice of McLennan County in 1873 and as county judge of McLennan County from 1874-1876. Served as a trustee of the Waco (now First) Presbyterian Church. Was a member of Waco Lodge No. 92, A. F. and A. M.
