  Utvandra 21. mars 1902 «b»Section hand with the Northern Pacific Railroad«/b». Thomas Bordson. Thomas was driving a handcar with foreman Louis Johnson and two other laborers when they rounded a sharp curve about 2 miles west of Bearmouth. An eastbound freight train came into view and the men jumped from the handcar. The freight train struck the hand car, and the hand car struck Thomas in the head, killing him instantly. Note: Contemporary news reports give his last name as "Barsden" and state he "has no relatives as far as known here."
