Sister Adolphino (1897-1986)

In remembrance of Sr Adolphino Overwater
Maria Antonia Josephia Overwater
who passed away on September 28, 1986
in the nursing home "Cunera" the Heeswijk.
She was born in Amsterdam on March 19, 1897
and joined the Society of J.M.J. on April 14, 1914

Sr Adolphino was a purebred from Amsterdam. She could deal with anyone; both the preschoolers in Overveen and the pupils at Marienbosch liked to have to do with her. When she became less mobile, she was a porter in Eindhoven and later in Zevenbergen. And there too she was generous in heart and hands.

She herself enjoyed life and granted this to others as well. More importantly, with her cheerful disposition, she could really make others happy too.

This lifestyle helped her to help others overcome difficult points. She was always busy; and stayed that way until shortly before her death. Her thorough character allowed her to take very resolute decisions.

Suddenly the Lord called her to Himself. She was thus spared a long illness. That certainly suited her.

Now she lives with God in whom she had put all her trust.

God's faithfulness lasts forever. Your will be done.

After an active and loving religious life, marked by a sincere joie de vivre, professionalism, goodness and cordiality - especially for her family - quite unexpectedly, but certainly not unprepared, we passed away in the peace of the Lord our dear fellow sister, sister, sister-in-law and aunt

Sister Adolphino was a woman of great faith and adoration for Mary. Fortunately, she was spared a long suffering. That does not mean we will not miss her cheerfulness.
