General Notes: John DINSMOOR, b. abt 1650 Scotland, left Scotland about 1667 for Ballywattick NI. He was the second son who didn't like the idea of paying homage and respect to his elder brother. At the age of 17, when his father required him "to hold the off stirrup of his elder brother's saddle, when he mounted his horse", he took off for Ulster, with only the clothes on his back and a cane. John married. |
