Anna Kristine Nilssen
General Notes: Anna stayed in Iowa when her father returned home, and lived with the Olson Family, first in Humbolt, Iowa, later in Ottason, Iowa. At 16 she went to Clear Lake and worked at a bakery. She was sent money to go to Tacoma to married, but the groom was not there to meet her, so she found a job as a housekeeper. While in Tacoma she met Olaf Tveter who was going to North Dakota to homestead, she got a ticket on the same train, and went to Minnesota. Here she met Charles Finder. They both worked on a farm, he outside, she inside. They married in May 1906 in Iowa. Charles enlisted in the Army in Feb 1907, Bernard was born in April. Family history says that the Lady of he house gave her money to leave him when she got pregnant. Anna married Olaf Engebrets. Tveter on 24 Apr 1909 in Washington. (Olaf Engebrets. Tveter was born on 16 Apr 1876 in Rælingen, Akershus and died on 14 May 1945 in Tacoma, Pierce, Washington.) |
