"Mr. and Mrs. Rasmus Simonson were early Finley people. Mr. Simonson built the building now housing the Corner Cafe and operated a hardware store there from 1901 until about 1912. The Simonsons left Finley about that time, and the majority of the family settled in the Seattle area. Mr. and Mrs. Simonson moved to Alaska. Names of the children are Ingebrit (1891-1972), who married Frances Hunter, Jennie (Bowker), Anna, Inga (Thomasson/Fagerbakke), Agnes, Margaret, Rasmus, Selma and Solly (Salomon)."

Rasmus married Anna Monsina Paulsdtr. Steineviken, daughter of Paul Arnes. Forland and Karianna Wincentzdtr. Toftetræet Rabben, in 1887. (Anna Monsina Paulsdtr. Steineviken was born on 17 Jun 1865 in Steineviken, Austevoll and died on 14 Feb 1937 in Anchorage, Alaska.)
