Malinda was the third child of Benjamin Ferguson and Nancy Green. She married (1) Edmond Mitchell and (2) Thomas A. Casey. She had at least 7 children.
In 1850 Census we find the family in Clay, Decatur, Indiana with Matthew, Sarah, Solomon (Lolemon), Elizabeth, Nancy, Ann E and Thomas Q. Matthew and Sarah with the lastname Casey, then in 1860 Sarah is recorded as Mitchell as her father.
In 1860 Thomas and Malinda in Nineveh, Bartholomew, Indiana with James S, Nancey, Ann, Thomas, Harvey and Sarah.
