Parents may be William Ewing and Catherine who had a son Levi b. 1819-1820 in Mohican, Ashland, OH, USA.

This Levi was married 30 Mar 1842, to Mary "Polly" Ann Andrews who died in childbirth and in Dec 1850 to Caroline Mozier who died between the census of June 4, 1860 and his supposed marriage on Oct 30, 1861 to Tamson Marinda vanCamp (1846-1918). I believe this marriage may have been to a separate William Ewing. Tamson remarried in 1868. When their daughter Elizabeth (1863-1939) died this William birthplace is said to be Indiana (not Ohio).

Levi is in Vermillion, Ashland, Ohio in 1850 with his son Elmore b. 1843 by his first wife. He died in Mar 1866 in Decatur, Indiana.

Decatur is where Dillon Ewing Shoemaker was born. Lydia would then have been Levi's third or fourth wife.

Levi married Mary Ann "Polly" Andrews on 30 Mar 1842 in Richland, Ohio, USA. (Mary Ann "Polly" Andrews died in Sep 1843 in Richland, Ohio, USA.)

Levi next married Caroline Mozier, daughter of Jacob Moser Jr and Susannah Whitmire, on 16 Dec 1850 in Ashland, Ohio. (Caroline Mozier was born in 1831 in Vermillion, Ashland, Ohio, USA and died on 4 Jun 1860-30 Oct 1861 in Indiana, USA.)

Levi next married Lydia Margaret Heckathorn, daughter of George Washington Heckathorn and Mary Ann Weist, on 21 Jul 1864 in Wells Co., IN. (Lydia Margaret Heckathorn was born on 12 Feb 1845 in Ohio, died on 24 Jul 1885 in Harrison, Wells, Indiana, USA and was buried in Fairview Cemetery, Bluffton, Wells, IN.)
