Mary Adalene's parents were; Percy C Dozier and Addie Mae Downing Dozier, both born in Norfolk, Va. around 1878.

Addie Downing Dozier's mother (Adeline Penelope Britt) was born in N.C. whilst her father (George Michael "Washington" Downing) born in Cork, Ireland. He came to America in the 1860's with his father
Edmond Barry Downing.

Mary married Dorsey Battle Tisdale, son of Dorsey Battle Tisdale and Hilma Charlotte Krogh, in 1917 in Elizabeth City, N.C. (Dorsey Battle Tisdale was born on 4 Aug 1898 in Spring Hope, Mannings Township, Nash Co., NC, died on 7 Nov 1973 in Norfolk, VA and was buried in Forest Lawn Cemetary, Norfolk, VA.)
