Theophilus and John returned to the old homestead last December, and was in the vigor of life unitl Sunday night Feb y 19; with a complication of bowel troubles, he departed this life at 9 o clock p.m. Feb 22d, 1899, in the presence of the family, except Wm.C. who is yet in Greenwood County, Kansas.

Johnny was a single man, and leaves a father, mother, three brothers and three sisters, to mourn his loss, together with a host of friends, as he only had to form acquaintance to make a friend.

His body was laid to rest in the beautiful little cemetery at Ponce de Leon, Friday Feb 24, 1899. The funeral services were conducted bu Rev. Wesley Henry, which was short and impressive.

As we grew older and our loved ones leave this world for the glorious beyond we feel that our excistence here is less tedious, this world grows less and the prospect of a glorious future grows brighter. The hope of a glorious meeting of the loved ones gone before, where broken hearts are healed and partings are unknown.
